Circular Economy

2024 is shaping up to be the year of Tagar#circular_economy. Today marks the launch of the ISO circular economy standards, a significant milestone in our transition from a linear to a circular economy model. A transition that requires a mindset shift towards new ways of doing things.

Catherine Chevauché, Circular Economy Director and ISO Comittee Chair and Noelia Garcia Nebra, Head of Sustainability at ISO – International Organization for Standardization graced us earlier with an insightful overview in an engaging Q&A session. Discussing pillars, challenges, and solutions.

The new ISO circular economy standards launched today include:
– ISO 59004: CE Vocabulary, principles, and guidance for implementation
– ISO 59010: CE Guidance on the transition of business models and value networks
– ISO 59020:CE Measuring and assessing circularity performance
– ISO 59040: CE Product circularity data sheet
– ISO 59014: Environmental management and circular economy – Sustainability and traceability of secondary materials recovery – Principles, requirements, and guidance

It’s great to see ISO – International Organization for Standardization providing the much-needed ‘how to’ guidance for organizations aiming to drive sustainability and innovation.
