PUBLIC REALM DESIGN MANUAL
The National Public Realm Design Manual is first, an implementing measure for Vision 2030. Under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Vision 2030 was launched. Vision 2030 is a roadmap drawn up by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, to harness the strengths God bestowed upon us—our strategic position, investment power and place at the center of Arab and Islamic worlds.
Vision 2030 articulates three themes for the nation’s development:
• Ambitious Nation
• Thriving Economy
• Vibrant Society 2
The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing (MOMRAH) has embarked on a comprehensive effort—the Spatial Planning and Visual Appeal Program—to realize the themes and goals of Vision 2030 in the physical development of the Kingdom and in the improvement of its visual environment. MOMRAH’s large-scale national program rests on four overarching goals and includes some 21 individual initiatives. This Manual is one of the 21 initiatives.
The four goals are:

• Urban Sustainability
• Competitiveness
• Resident & Visitor Satisfaction
