USA’s mission revolves around supporting urban regions in implementing large-scale sustainability solutions. This document presents the USA framework for implementing Sustainable Economic Development strategies in urban regions. The author, James Nixon, serves as the chairman of Sustainable Systems, Inc., a partner of USA, and is a co-author of the “Double Bottom Line Handbook.” Nixon played a pivotal role as a lead consultant in the development of Mission Verde, San Antonio’s Sustainability Plan, and Southwest Florida’s Climate Prosperity Strategy.

Future publications by USA will delve into other facets of its work, including large-scale building retrofits, sustainable transportation, transit- and cargo-oriented development, as well as green infrastructure initiatives.
