Urban Design Manual
The City of Brantford is a community rich in history, shaped by its agricultural and industrial background and location on the Grand River. Brantford has a diverse mix of old and new, providing a vibrant atmosphere for residents, visitors, and businesses. The City is growing, and with this growth comes many different types of development and redevelopment within the City’s Built-up Area and as part of the City’s Settlement Area expansion. As part of this, the City is committed to ensuring an urban design guideline framework is provided for Brantford’s public and private realm. The Urban Design Manual, City Building and Place Making Guidelines (the Manual) is a consolidated set of City-wide urban design guidelines for the City of Brantford. The Manual reflects the City’s commitment to good urban design and provides a consistent baseline for assessing development proposals on both public and private lands.
